In a session tilted “Promoting Reading and Writing Through the Daily 5 framework”, Ms. Halabi
shared some techniques and strategies that instill behaviors of independence, create a classroom of
highly engaged readers, and provide teachers with routines to maximize students’ reading stamina.
There were many highlights in that 85-minute session, namely, the interactive element of the session
that allowed educators to raise common concerns, share best practices, and connect from the
different places of the MENA region. The vibes and passion of the educators aligned well with the
conference’s theme: Revitalizing the Learning Experience to Reignite Inspiration and Passion.
Finally, that session “Promoting Reading and Writing through the Daily 5 Framework”, shed light on
the importance of developing a structure that combines classroom management and curriculum
framework to help students develop daily habits of reading and writing, work independently, and
build stamina.
