Description
This course examines the role of differentiation in teaching all children, including those with special needs, in inclusive classrooms. Participants explore the range of learning needs found in educational settings and consider the range of possibilities for supporting learners with special educational needs and disabilities, including gifted and talented. This course also provides participants with a foundation in contemporary approaches to classroom management in diverse classrooms. It addresses proactive, responsive, supportive, inclusive, culturally and age-appropriate methods of leading and managing learning environments. Participants explore theoretical frameworks and effective strategies for maximizing positive behavior.
What you will learn ?
- Identify different special educational needs and disabilities and appropriate accommodation/adaptation strategies to use to enhance students’ learning in inclusive settings.
- Evaluate different differentiation methods and their implications on the development of students with special educational needs and disabilities.
- Critically analyze school processes, operations and stakeholder roles to prioritize inclusive education challenges informed by theoretical, practical, cultural and ethical perspectives.
- Apply and assess inclusive education insights in their own professional practice.
- Identify processes and practices to further develop your differentiation capacity
- Construct an inclusive education policy to guide their practice as educators.
