One notable panel discussion in this event focused on ‘Enabling Youth for Sustainable Development Goal 4 (SDG4) – Advancing Quality Education Worldwide,’ with a specific section dedicated to mental health and well-being in education. During the discussion, Yara highlighted the need to minimize risk factors associated with the rise in mental health difficulties among children and adolescents. Yara emphasized the importance of integrating social and emotional learning programs in schools, citing Eduvate’s efforts in providing Arabic content to Arabic-speaking countries as an example. She also advocated for increased funding from schools and potential mandates from education ministries, akin to the successful Middle East (ME) program in the UAE. Additionally, she shared insights from her research on mindfulness interventions and their positive impact on teacher well-being.
